THE GYPSY IN ME SINGS! Song recital Sunday Aug.13, 2017 7pm

Singers from the Studio of Sue Ellen Kuzma will present an evening of songs from many lands, songs of leaving, loving, wandering. William Merrill, the inestimable pianist will accompany pieces from Bernstein’s “Candide” (his 100th birthday next year, Bernstein’s that is) – “I am Easily Assimilated” and “Glitter and be Gay.” Classical composers represented include Tchaikovsky, Obradors, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Schubert. There will be musical theater pieces, including “The Gypsy in Me” and a quartet of arias.    This will take place at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wayland, free admission, air-conditioned and a reception afterwards.  We all come from ‘somewhere else’ and have arrived where we are, but music is often the vehicle for our migration. The deep solace as well. Come join us!
